I admit it. I'm a convert. After years of paying (often "through the nose") for cable TV, I finally broke down, "cut the cable", and gave satellite a try. And while my new "extra-terrestrial" service isn't necessarily all it's cracked up to be, the change has been mostly for the better.
But is satellite really better than cable? Although many would disagree with me, I honestly feel that each has its advantages and disadvantages. I pay less now than I did with cable. And I like that all the channels are digital with satellite. On the other hand, the sat guys simply can't compete with cable Internet. Cable's broadband Internet service is faster and cheaper (although I still think they charge more than they should).
What do I recommend? Well, fortunately not all cable companies are created equal. Your cable services and prices can depend on who your cable company is and where you get your service. So, your best bet is to do a little comparison shopping. To get started, click on the name of your cable TV provider:
